The Supreme Council of Country’s Defense (CSAT) will meet today at 14:00 at the Cotroceni Palace under the leadership of President Klaus Iohannis.

Romanian Supreme Council of Country’s Defense (CSAT) will meet today at 14:00 at the Cotroceni Palace under the leadership of President Klaus Iohannis, and will discuss, among other issues, about the EU’s Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) and its implications for Romania.
CSAT participants will debate issues related to the activation of this joint defense mechanism and to the political decision regarding the possible involvement of Romania in the Permanent Structured Cooperation.
On 19 and 20 October, the Head of the Romanian State will attend the European Council meeting in Brussels.
Among the subjects on the Agenda of the European Council are Migration, Digital Europe, Security and Defense, External Relations of the European Union, focusing on the EU-Turkey relationship.
