UMF Târgu Mureş Charta “has to be admitted”
The Charta of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMF) from Târgu Mureş has to be admitted by the Education Ministry, The Appeal Court Târgu Mureş has decided, which gives justice to UMF management.

The Appeal Court Târgu Mureş, the IInd Civil Section of Administrative and Fiscal Contentious of Justice has decided Friday to oblige the Education, Research, Youth and Sport Ministry to validate the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Charta, according to a press release.
The sentence can be appealed to the High Court of Cassation and Justice within five days after the notification.
In another process in which the Hungarian Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Training from Romania has claimed UMF Târgu Mureş, also on the University’s Charta, Mureş Court has postponed Friday the trial for June 18, in order to study the documents.
The University’s management announced on February 22 that it has required within the court the admission of Charta as it was adopted within the UMF Senate, considering that it was tacitly adopted, after the 30 days of the term passed during which the Education Ministry could send observations.
UMF management pointed out that “the multicultural and multilingual identity within the national system of Romanian education is expressed through the university Charta”, this one being “anchored in the new Law of national education and Constitution provisions”.
The applying of the government decision regarding the establishment of a new faculty within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Târgu-Mureş was suspended on May 4, after an Appeal Court decision, which has admitted a request in this respect formulated by the UMF management.
On Monday, Ungureanu government has appealed the sentence with suspension.
The new government, leaded by Victor Ponta, has decided within the Tuesday meeting to withdraw the appeal formulated by the former executive at the Court’s decision of suspending the former government’s decision regarding the establishment of a new faculty within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Târgu-Mureş.
The government announced, at the mid-March, that it will establish a Hungary line of education at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Târgu-Mureş, so that students could obtain legally recognized diplomas.
