The "scrappage", "supplemented this year"
Minister of Environment, Rovana Plumb, announced that by the end of June the number of tickets in the "scrappage" program will be supplemented by 15,000 and after the budgetary rectification will be other 15,000.

Minister of Environment, Rovana Plumb, announced Monday that by the end of June the number of tickets in the "scrappage" program will be supplemented by 15,000 and after the budgetary rectification will be other 15,000, the decision being taken to maintain jobs.
Rovana Plumb said that was analyzed the possibility that by the end of June to complete the marketing procedure, additionally, of 15,000 tickets in the "scrappage", adding that they will be used after July 1.
Environment Minister said that the 15,000 tickets from the first phase have a total value of 57 million lei.
The minister announced that the "scrappage" will continue, as it is believed that it is in support of citizens, and after the budgetary rectification will be marketed other 15,000 tickets.
"For the first stage, by the end of this month, the procedure will be completed, so that the 15,000 tickets are available on the market for individuals, corresponding to an amount of 57 million lei. For budgetary rectification, we have within the analysis the launch on the market of a number of 15,000 tickets, so the total by the end of the year will be 30,000 tickets under this “scrappage" program said environment Minister, Rovana Plumb.
Supplementing the "scrappage" helps also the people from Dacia plant in Pitesti.
In fact, they had demanded the increasing of amounts allocated under this program, so that car sales to grow.
Meanwhile, production was halted at Dacia starting today for three days and about 9,000 of the 13,500 employees became technically unemployed and will receive 85 percent of the salary.
According to regulations, owners of cars older than ten years, but compulsory in running state have to go to REMAT with the property papers and documents from the police showing their removal from circulation.
Based on these documents, old car is scrapped, in exchange its owner receiving a ticket value of 3,800 lei.
Owners can use the tickets either for buying a new car, or to sell them on the open market.
In the last two years, with this program were scrapped 305,964 used vehicles and were bought 101,766 new cars, 40,269 of them coming from Romanian production, according to the environment ministry.
