Adolescents will have priority for vaccination against COVID-19 early this week, to mark June 1, International Children's Day.
Young people between the ages of 16 and 18 are the ones to whom marathon events scheduled for today and tomorrow are addressed.
In a few days, it will be possible to immunize children over 12 years old, and appointments can be made today on the online platform.
However, minors need the consent of their parents, said the head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, present at a vaccination caravan in Suceava County.
Raed Arafat: In order to be vaccinated, the child must have the consent of the parent. I hope they understand that this is also important because, even if children do not get seriously ill, they transmit the virus. We prepare and vaccinate, not because we are in a good place now, but to prevent a new situation in the future and to stop a new variant of the virus, or one of the variants that already exists and spread faster, from increasing the number of cases. The more we get vaccinated, the better our chances of controlling the situation and returning to "normal".
