RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Romania becomes one of the first countries where the production of modern military technology and equipment is placed, said Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca after signing the collaboration agreement between Uzina Mecanica Bucharest and General Dynamics European Land Systems Romania.
He said that Romania has the human resources, the potential and the will to have the same standards and committed as when it became a member of the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union.
The Prime Minister also said that this project has made important progress in the production of Mowag Piranha transporters in Romania.
Nicolae Ciuca: “The last time I was here in 2019, there were two or three vehicles on the production line. Today the line is at full capacity and, at the same time, from then until now, the first 68 transporters have been delivered. Two ground forces infantry battalions now have modern combat equipment. It is very obvious that through this approach we can see a high degree of trust that strategic partners give to our country in a special security context and which materializes in the transfer of technology and know-how in the Romanian industry, in the Romanian economy.”
