The Bucharest Court of Appeal declared them unwelcome on the eight citizens from the Middle East, on which the Romanian Service Information say that they have carried out subversive actions in favour of terrorist groups.
Friday's decision can be appealed, but if the High Court of Cassation and Justice maintained the solution of the Court of appeal, the eight will be expelled to countries of origin and will not be able to return to Romania for 15 years, judicial sources say, quoted by the editor of Radio Romania Actualităţi, Mădălina Verman.
The spokesman of SRI, Sorin Tudor, said on Friday for the Mediafax that eight ethnic Palestinians for which it was asked the expulsion have links with international terrorist organizations and intended to carry out a supporting structure in Romania for the migration of some of the members of this organization.
Sorin Sava also stated that the actual expulsion measures will be implemented in the period immediately after the moment at which the decision of the Court remains the final, by the representatives of the Ministry of the Interior.
Romanian Service Information urged to the Bucharest Parquet of the Court of appeal the declaring as undesirable of the eight people from the Middle East, for a period of 15 years,” for reasons of national security”, being suspected of "subversive actions" in favour of terrorist groups
“On 22.08.2012 from the proposal made by SRI, Bucharest Parquet of the Court of Appeal has noticed Bucharest Court of Appeal, in accordance with art. 85 para.2 and art. 97 paragraph 1, letter (c) and paragraph 3 from the EGO nr. 194/2002 rep. regarding the treatment of foreigners in Romania, in order to appreciate the arrangement of the declaring measure as undesirables of a group of 8 persons coming from the Middle East, for a period of 15 years, for reasons of national security”, shown in the communiqué of the Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors submitted that resulted clues regarding the conduct by these people of the subversive actions for some groups considered terrorist by international bodies.
“During the period April to August 2012, the persons have been checking the possibilities of formation on the territory of Romania of an eventual support structure for illegal migration that could be accessed by members of active terrorist organizations at an international level”, also shown in the Bucharest Appeal Court press.
