Snowdrifts isolate tens of thousands of people
Houses hundreds of villages buried in snow, pregnant women taken by helicopter to maternity, food brought by army, dead are not buried, people waiting rescue from mass media, this is the picture of Bărăgan.

A priest from Glodeanu Siliştea, Buzău, who died in the early last week cannot be buried until the necropsy is done to determine the cause of death.

A helicopter of the Inspectorate General of Aviation from Ministry of Administration and Interior took off from Bucharest to take 11 people with medical emergencies in six villages in the plain of Bărăgan.
A helicopter of the Inspectorate General of Aviation from the Ministry of Administration and Interior carried on the night of Thursday to Friday, two people (a pregnant woman and a man with multiple fractures) from Cochirleanca to health facilities in the city of Buzău.
The mission was extremely complex, for taking the two people the pilots from Inspectorate General of Aviation being forced to land at night, on the unknown and uncharted land, relying only on equipment for night vision.
According to information provided by Vrancea County Council, there are over 40,000 people already isolated for seven days in 69 villages of many communes.
Five communes in Vrancea county are non-powered electricity and due to snowy roads teams from Eectrica can not fix damage.
Isolated villagers resort to mass-media
On Friday, firefighters from Buzău city go in far away villages, Scutelnici and Glodeanu Siliştea, to supply people food.
For the seventh consecutive day, 27 communes spread throughout the county are without electricity and some water and telephone communication.
Desperate calls come from all areas of Buzău County and especially villagers call mass-media.
Mariana Popescu from a village called Golu Grabicina called the Radio România Actualități correspondent on behalf of over 100 families in her village and the villages Beciu and Balta Tocilă, as well.
People are isolated and they only want bread and medicines and if it is possible some corn flour.
The information about this situation was sent also the subprefect Valeriu Ungureanu and representatives Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Buzău.
According Infotrafic Buzău are still closed now because of drifts DN2C Costești-Slobozia and 22 Rm Sărat - Brăila and on DN 10 Buzău-Brașov on there are two restrictions on tonnage from 7.5tons to 84 and 93 km of road collapse.
Ferry floating on an ice cap
After more than eight days, on Friday ferry to the Big Island of Brăila made three crossings with cars and farmers with machineries to clear county roads to isolated villages, sent the information the Radio România Actualități correspondent, Gina Bahor.
Five communes from Brăila county , respectively Frecăței and Marasu from Great Island of Brăila and Visani, and Galbenu Jirlau from the west part of the county, were declared isolated areas, that is why they released over the state reserves food and water.
Also today it has been gathered supplies and water at the Emergency situations Inspectorate ( ESI) and trucks are ready to cross the Danube.
In places on the island last night went to Bucharest helicopters of Ministry of Defense with 2 tons of food in Marasu and 2 tons in Frecatei.

In the Brăila county there are three roads closed DN2B Vizireni - Brăila –Galați, Brăila DN22 - DN23 Grădiștea and Brăila - Olăneasca.
It is working for unlocking and removing snow scrolls from 16county roads.
From Marasu they will be brought by ferry, two near-term pregnants and a suffering person from terminal cancer.

Passenger cars are still not allowed to go across the ferry, because the roads are clogged with snow of one meter.
To avoid problems, the prefect of the county , Dumitru Popa, requested the intervention of the police to avoid scandal and other violence.
750 passengers stranded in train State went 50 hours

A journey that usually takes place in one hour.
In the same morning, two ambulances doctors checked the health of people and there were not serious cases, pregnant women or young children.
Doctors shared light cold medicines to those who asked.
For the 14 players from Oțelul Galați the rescue came from a helicopter, which carried out two flights.
The helicopter landed on a concrete platform behind the station Făurei.
2,000 people isolated in Călărași
According to Radio România Actualități correspondent, Daniela Mihalache, nearly 2,000 people in Călărași county are still isolated , but authorities give assurances that it is still working at the snow removal for access roads.
In Socoalele the snow machines will arrive at 6 p.m, at Înfrățirea, at 3 p.m., at Siliştea – at 4 p.m. at Coţofanca, at 7 p.m. at Progresu – at 3 p.m. and at Solacolu the snow removal for the access road will occur on Saturday.
In settlements where on the roads the snow is not removed on Friday night, two helicopters of ESI will carry supplies and water.
During this time, authorities took people on the field with the help of tractors, bread and water.
In all isolated settlements, ESI intervened by land.
Only in the last 24 hours, firefighters, along the county ambulance staff intervened first aid in 111 cases, 106 persons being transported to hospital.
Regarding traffic, the Sun Highway, a single national road and several county roads are closed roads.
Road workers try to open also traffic on DN 3 in section Lehliu Gară - Călărași, where it is worked in the area of Plevna.
To the capital it can travel on the route Calarasi-Drajna-Lehliu Gară and Bucharest to Constanța and can be reached on DN 3A-Drajna Bucharest-Fetești Lehliu Gară.
In terms of traffic on county roads, it is still stuck on seven county roads.
Regarding power supply, the county recorded 16 sites affected, partially or totally, 49 electricity networks affected , 9 lines of medium voltage , 12 medium voltage lines and 40 substations.
Rail traffic is perturbed by two railway lines and a bus.
