Some 38% of Romanians have an open attitude towards immigration while 54% expressed no opinion on foreigners coming to Romania, according to an Immigrants Integration Barometer of Soros' Open Society Foundation in partnership with the Romanian Association of Health Promotion issued on Wednesday.

However, Romanian local authorities had no integration strategies while immigrant figures were unavailable, project manager Victoria Cojocariu said in a statement as quoted by RADIO ROMANIA on Wednesday.

At the same time, education along with ways of collecting and centralising data on non-EU foreigners remain a key issue, the Barometer said.
