Romania wins Gold Medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad

Ştefan Răzvan Bălăucă, from "Mihai Eminescu" National College in Botoșani, won the Gold Medal at the Asian Physics Olympiad that took place in Hanoi, Vietnam, during 5-13 May 2018.
Romanian team at the Asian Physics Olympiad - coordinated by prof.Delia Constanţa Davidescu and prof.Adrian Dafinei, and composed of Ştefan Bălăucă, Cosmin Andrei, Radu Andrei, Petru Cotruţ, Ştefan Dolteanu, Sebastian Leontion, Silviu Predoi,Mihai Ursu – placed third in the ranking of the nations, after China and Russia.
Romanians won four Gold Medals, one Silver, one Bronze and two Mentions.
Romania's Physics Olympic Team participates for the second time at this prestigious international competition and is the only qualified team in Europe.
Event has been attended by 188 students aged below 30, from 25 countries. Romania is the only country in the European Union that has been represented in Hanoi, Vietnam, as a result of the exceptional performances achieved by members of this Olympic team – says RRA correspondent Gina Poenaru.
