Romania will invest in increasing the capacity of Constanta and Galati ports

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sorin Grindeanu, announced that the Executive approved on Wednesday, November 9, new investments to increase the operating capacity of the Ports of Constanta and Galati, worth 780.256 million lei, writes Agerpres.

"Today, in the Government, we approved new investments to increase the operating capacity of the Ports of Constanta and Galati! More precisely, the technical-economic indicators necessary for the construction of a multimodal platform in the Port of Galati that will provide a much more efficient connection to the pan-European central network Rhine-Danube. A vertical quay with a length of 868 meters will be built, the port areas will be supplemented and the road and rail access areas will be modernized", the minister wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, the updated value of the investment is 780.256 million lei, and the financing is provided from European funds, funds from the state budget, amounts from the budget of CN APDM SA Galati and own sources of some private partners.

The Minister of Transport emphasized that the entire project must be completed in 40 months.
