Romania’s Ministry of Finance has borrowed more than one billion lei from local banks on Monday, the total amount attracted from domestic market since the beginning of the year reaching equivalent of about 2 billion euros.
According to RRA Reporter Iulian Olescu, an additional auction is scheduled on Tuesday, for another 105 million lei.
In November last year, Romania's external debt increased to 107 billion euros.
For this year, the loan requirement from the internal and external market amounts to more than 40 billion lei for financing the projected budget deficit and another 46.3 billion lei, representing debt to be refinanced this year.
