Romania will set up an annual award for personalities who contribute to Holocaust education, research and commemoration, as well as to preventing and combating Anti-Semitism.
It is one of the commitments made by Romania, which President Klaus Iohannis presented on Wednesday at the Forum dedicated to the Commemoration of the Holocaust and the Fight against Anti-Semitism, which took place in Sweden.
The head of state recalled that Romania adopted in May its first national strategy to prevent and combat anti-Semitism, xenophobia, radicalization and hate speech, as well as the associated action plan, which aims at three main directions: protecting vulnerable groups, increasing society's resilience and strengthening international cooperation.
