Romania is the largest exporter of wheat in the European Union this season, which began on July 1, with 1.17 million tons, and represents more than a quarter of the amount exported by the EU bloc.
In the next places are Poland, Bulgaria and France.
At the level of the Union, wheat exports decreased this season by more than 20% compared to the same period last year, according to the data published on Wednesday by the European Commission.
In contrast, wheat imports in the EU bloc increased to 793.000 tons, with Ukraine being the largest supplier.
