Romania and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have decided to cooperate more closely in the future in several areas.
A joint statement on establishing a strategic economic partnership between the governments of the two countries was signed on Thursday, 18 October, in Abu Dhabi.
Decision was made during meeting of Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă with her counterpart in the Emirates.
RRA Special Envoy Petruța Obrejan: Declaration states that Romania and the United Arab Emirates will cooperate in the future in several priority sectors, namely trade, investment, industry, agriculture, finance, banking, energy, transport, IT and transport infrastructure. The two Prime Ministers, Viorica Dăncilă and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, made a statement in favor of adopting, as soon as possible, an action plan setting out the concrete steps that the Governments of Bucharest and Abu Dhabi will take for this economic strategic partnership to be applied. Viorica Dăncilă expressed support for intensification of cooperation between the business environments of the two states and presented the main legislative facilities offered by Romania for the development of projects in public-private partnership, facilities that stimulate both private investments and at the same time allow the development of major projects of national importance. The two officials also addressed a range of regional and international issues of common interest.
