Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has joined on Tuesday participants to the „Pedalling for Romania” bycicle march, dedicated to the Centenary of the Great Union. Head of state came to the event by bike and he joined the cyclists from the Palace Square to the Triumphal Arch in Bucharest.
Klaus Iohannis: "This is an excellent initiative, I am very happy to take part in bicycle events, but this time I really enjoy the fact that the tour is dedicated to the Centenary of the Great Union. The Centenary is about us, the Romanians, about unity (...) I congratulate the organizers, very determined people, I wish all cyclists success and and I hope they will all arrive well in Alba Iulia, the City of the Great Union”.
On Tuesday, nearly 250 amateur cyclists left from Bucharest, Timișoara, Iași and Drobeta-Turnu-Severin, to meet five days later in Alba Iulia in this March dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Union, according to Agerpres.
