Olympics: Romania missed the qualification in the quarterfinals in football

The Romanian national team missed the qualification in the quarterfinals of the men's football tournament at the Tokyo Olympic Games, after finishing tied with New Zealand, 0-0, in its last Group B match.
Romania's Olympic team needed a win in order to qualify further, after 1-0 with Honduras and 0-4 with South Korea, but they failed to do so, in front of a very well organized and superior team in terms of physical training.
The Romanian national football team returned to the Olympic Games after a break of 57 years, finishing the participation in third place in the group, tied with New Zealand, but with a lower goal difference.
