General Secretariat of Romanian Government, through Department for Sustainable Development, officially launched national project for the sustainable development of Romania. This will take place over a period of three years, and the first actions have already taken place since August. Total value of the project is 5 million euros, insured from non-reimbursable European funds.
As Department's coordinator László Borbély said, starting from 2021, Romania's budget will be drafted on the basis of sustainable development indicators.
László Borbély: By 2022, we will need to have that inter-institutional network to ensure functioning of implementation, which is not only the Interdepartmental Committee, which was just set up, but an Advisory Council, 17 committees which I hope will work on different fields. Another target is an action plan to be finalized by mid 2020 and which will outline indicators and elements to be taken into account by Romania by 2030.
National strategy supports Romania's development on three main pillars - economic, social and environmental - and is citizen-oriented.
