Mountain rescuers advise those who want to go hiking in the mountains this mini holiday to choose paths at lower altitudes due to snow and blizzards being expected starting Sunday.
The head of the Mures Mountain Rescue Service, Robert Kovacs, with a statement for Radio Romania Targu Mures:
Robert Kovacs: From next week, winter is coming in force in the Calimani Mountains, respectively in the Gurghiu Mountains. If you want to go in the mountainous area of Mures county, choose trails in the lower areas. Gurghiu Valley and Mures Valley are good options.
Mountain rescuers will be present at all intervention points, but they remind tourists that they should always be properly equipped.
