Mona Pivniceru is the new Minister of Justice

Mona Pivniceru sworn in the investiture oath to Cotroceni Palace as Minister of Justice.
On Thursday, interim President, Crin Antonescu has signed a decree to appoint her as a Minister, after being issued by a Decree of the judge in the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
Interim President thanked Crin Antonescu Mrs Pivniceru for "the courage to assume at this point such a responsibility."
"More than ever today arises this problem and Romanian citizens are in need of a justice in which to believe. The credibility of the justice system is not a cargo export ,it is a must for the true existence and functioning of a state of law, "said Crin Antonescu.
The interim President has also stated that confidence in the courts and in the institutions of Justice still remains a desideratum, but noted that the appointment of Mona Pivniceru as Minister of Justice offers the chance that all these objectives to be met.
Prime Minister Victor Ponta proposed on 6th of August Mona Pivniceru for taking over the justice portfolio after having operated a reshuffle of the Government, the former Minister Titus Corlatean taking over the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Victor Ponta motivated the proposal by the fact that Mona Pivniceru is politically uninvolved , has experience in the field, authority and independence.
