Mona Pivniceru has resigned from CSM
Judge Mona Pivniceru, designated as Minister of Justice in Ponta Government resigned from the Superior Council of Magistracy, CSM has announced.

On 8th of August 2012 has been recorded at the Superior Council of Magistracy(CSM) , the resignation of an elected member of the CSM, a representative of the judges of the High Court of Cassation and justice, judge Mona Pivniceru, it can be read in a press release of CSM.
The communiqué also states that the resignation of a member of CSM is not effective and does not produce legal effects until such time as the CSM plenum does not take note of this.
Calendar of public meetings of the plenary in CSM was set for the week of 20-24 August 2012, prior to this period being impossible, under the plenary meeting quorum shall be indicated in the communication of CSM.
Interim President, Crin Antonescu, signed a decree on Tuesday to designate Prime Minister Victor Ponta as interim Minister of Justice.
The appointment of Prime Minister Victor Ponta as interim Justice Minister came after Monday, the one who held the Justice portfolio, Titus Corlățean, took over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Victor Ponta had proposed instead of Titus Corlățean , Mona Pivniceru, who is also a member of CSM.
Department for judges of CSM decided unanimously on Monday, however, that Mona Pivniceru cannot be detached to the Ministry of Justice.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistracy , Alina Ghica, added that in order to get the posting from the High Court of Cassation and Justice, Mona Pivniceru must first to resign from CSM.
On Monday evening, Prime Minister Victor Ponta said that designation of Mona Pivniceru as Minister of Justice was delayed several days due to detachment.
