The National Agency for Fiscal Administration is going to make 2 000 layoffs, due to reorganization process – NAFA President Sorin Blejnar said on Friday.
Moreover, the NAFA will dissolve 550 management positions.
‘Around 2 000 people will soon be sent home. We will be conducting professional testing, to establish who these people are going to be. We are then going to start giving notices to those from the Financial Guard. There are going to be 300 actual layoffs at the Financial Guard and 700 at Customs. They are going to be laid off in the next 60 days’, Sorin Blejnar says.
2 000 more people are going to be laid off at the Romanian Post – according to the statement that Minister of Communications, Valerian Vreme, made on Friday.
The Romanian Post will undergo restructuring and modernization which, the Minister claims, are going to save the company 50 million RON.
Romanian Post Trade Union Leader, Matei Brătianu, claims that the amount saved is not going to be as big as claimed.
‘According to the collective employment agreement, the Romanian Post has to give out severance salaries. The average is 15 salaries per employee. Which means layoffs are not a viable measure, since there are going to be 2 000 layoffs for 15 months. The measure will not affect the company’s budget in any way, because it would have to pay severance packages’, Matei Brătianu also says.
