President Klaus Iohannis has announced that he will not convene parties for consultations until a majority that wants to propose a government has emerged.
It is the first intervention of the head of state after Nicolae Ciuca resigned as prime minister-designate.
President Klaus Iohannis considers that the resumption of negotiations between the political parties after Nicolae Ciuca resigned as prime minister-designate is a very good thing.
However, Klaus Iohannis announced that he will not convene parliamentary parties for consultations in order to appoint a new prime minister until the discussions result in a majority assumed by the parties.
Klaus Iohannis: I will halt formal consultations until a majority rises from the discussions between the parties, a majority assumed by the parties that will want to propose a government. Only then, when this majority is assumed, will I convene consultations for the formation of the new government.
Reporter: On the other hand, the President of Romania reminded that the school holiday that ends at the end of this week will not be extended. Students will return to school where the sanitary and epidemiological conditions allow this.
The president specified that a new condition will be introduced for schools to be able to operate with physical presence, namely the degree of vaccination of the staff.
Tomorrow, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education will issue an order in this regard.
