European Parliament's Conference of Presidents is to make on Thursday the final evaluation of hearings of the 26 Commissioners-designate.
Vote on the new European Commission is scheduled for next week's plenary session. Procedures were delayed because Romania, France and Hungary were forced to nominate new candidates, their first proposals having been rejected on the basis of integrity.
RRA Correspondent in Brussels, Amalia Bojescu: Before final evaluation, President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, will have an exchange of views with the three executive Vice-Presidents of the European Commission: Frans Timmermans, Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovskis. Conference of the Presidents of the EU Parliament is the forum that will decide the official conclusion of hearings of the 26 Commissioners-designate. Public hearings in the EP specialized committees were held from September 30 to October 8. First candidates nominated by Romania, Hungary and France were rejected on the basis of integrity. New Commissioners designate came before MEPs from the specialized committees on November 14, after having received favorable opinion from EP Legal Affairs Committee (JURI). Once the hearings are over, President-elect of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will present the entire College of Commissioners and the new EU Executive's agenda at next week's plenary session of the EU Parliament. European Commission shall be elected by a majority of votes, in the plenary of the European Parliament.
