Starting Wednesday, the AMBER Alerts system of the Facebook network is active in Romania.
It is a partnership with the Romanian Police, which will help locate missing children.
When the police decide that an AMBER alert can be declared, a notification will appear in the News Feed of the users in the search area of the minor.
This will include a photo of the missing child, his or her name and other relevant information, as well as data about the person suspected of abduction.
Network users will not be able to stop this type of notification, but they can close the alert and access it later and even share it with friends.
The message will be accompanied by a link to the press release of the Romanian Police and to the official Facebook page of the institution, where more information about the case that led to the triggering of the mechanism can be found.
This way, users can quickly notify the police if they have useful information. Romania is the 24th country in the world that collaborates with Facebook in order to find missing children.
