The European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides, spoke with the relevant Minister, Ioana Mihaila, about the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 and the strengthening of cooperation and coordination between Member States and European health institutions. The European Commissioner stressed the urgency of doubling vaccination efforts during this period.

Stella Kyriakides: Member States have received 500 million doses of vaccine, and more than half of all European citizens have received both doses. However, it is now up to the Member States to further stimulate the vaccination effort.

Reporter: Minister Ioana Mihaila said that Romania continues its efforts to increase the number of vaccinated people, especially the vulnerable and the ones living in rural areas, and that among the objectives are to start immunization in specialized outpatient clinics and increase vaccination capacity in family doctors' offices.
