‘Just two weeks before the deadline to sign the contract with the National Health Insurance House, doctors are determined to reject the government’s version of the contract’, the President of the Employers’ Federation for Family Medicine, Doina Mihailă, stated.
She stated that, for the time being, an agenda with possible protest action hasn’t been made and underlined that, if by the end of the month there won’t be any modifications to these laws, then family doctors reserve the right to refuse closing the contract with the Health Insurance Company.
The President of the World Association of Family Doctors, Richard Roberts, declared in a press conference that ‘the doctors in Romania are frustrated because of money issues.’
He said that ‘Romania is mistaken in spending only 3.86 from the GDP for health, given the fact that the good conduct of business requires double’.
Also, the President of the World Association of Family Doctors has exemplified that ‘in the US the average allocation is 9,000 USD per year for each person, while in Romania is only 220 USD per year.’
A major disruption identified in Romania by Richard Roberts is the fact that 6,000 doctors graduate Med School per year, while, in 2010, 7,000 doctors left to work abroad, to member-countries of the European Union.
