Defense Minister Vasile Dincu: military careers are becoming attractive

RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The Minister of Defense, Vasile Dincu, was at the Boboc Air Training Base, Buzau County.

He decorated military unit's battle flag, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the establishment of this first military piloting school.

By presidential decree, the Air Force Institution was awarded the Order of "Aeronautical Virtue" in the rank of Knight with peace sign.

Recently, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Minister of Defense visited several military units in the country.

Yesterday he was at the Command headquarters of the 4th Infantry Division "Gemina" in Cluj-Napoca, where he announced that the Ministry of Defense is going to publish a bill that provides for two types of volunteering in the military.

The intention is to recruit 10.000 volunteers in the next three years.

Vasile Dincu: “We are launching some offers in this period and in the future in order to bring volunteers in the Romanian Army in two variants. Both the reserve volunteers and the voluntary military service will appear in a law that we will publish very soon. We will try to innovate, to bring young people into the army and, I think, military careers will become more attractive.”

Vasile Dincu mentioned that it will be a while before the war in Ukraine ends.

He believes that Russia has so far used peace negotiations only to gain time.
