Criminal file at the Câmpulung Muscel Maternity
The Argeş Police opened a criminal file for negligence at work for Marieta Ştefănescu, doctor in chief at the Neonatology Ward of the Câmpulung Muscel Municipal Hospital.

The Argeş Police opened a criminal file for negligence at work for Marieta Ştefănescu, doctor in chief at the Neonatology Ward of the Câmpulung Muscel Municipal Hospital.
She is being charged in the case of the newly born twins that were pronounced dead at the Câmpulung Muscel Maternity.
'After preliminary investigation, a criminal file was opened on the charges of negligence at work. After the investigation, the prosecutors at the Câmpulung Muscel Prosecutor's Office will propose a legal solution', stated Laura Folea, spokesperson for Argeş County Police Inspectorate.
According to representatives from the Argeş County Police Inspectorate, the doctor will be investigated without being held in custody, and the file will be sent to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Câmpulung Muscel Court.
If found guilty of negligence at work, Marieta Ştefănescu is facing one month to two years in jail or a fine.
The Argeş Public Health Directorate is conducting a parralel investigation.
The newly born twins are in at the ICU at the Polizu Maternity and are given specialized medical care.
Last week, two premature newly borns from the Câmpulung Municipal Hospital were transfered to Bucharest.
The twins' birth was registered after nine days.
When they were born on November 9th, the twins weighed 700 grams, 800 respectively.
Between the time they were born and Sunday, the doctors at the Câmpulung Municipal Hospital didn't register their birth, the twins were registered as dead in the hospital records.
The management of the Argeş Public Health Directorate was informed about this case by the Health Minister himself, Cseke Attila.
