Constanţa Harbor could be an important point of the new "Silk Road", an ancient trade route linking Europe to Asia and the advantages offered by this stopover at the Romanian Black Sea Coastline will be presented today at an International Symposium, organized for the first time in Romania, where more than 200 delegates from 12 countries will attend.
The Symposium aims to set the basis for new cooperation relations in the field of transport and freight exchange along the „Silk Road”.
Romanian local authorities say that important steps have already been taken to improve cooperation within this project, by signing agreements with several countries such as China, Georgia, Kangaskhan, and the State Naval Service in Turkmenistan. Constanţa Port, through its operating capabilities, offers the possibility of developing this international transport corridor.
The Symposium will start today with the signing of the Cooperation Protocol between the Harbors of Baku (Azerbaijan) and Constanţa (Romania).
