Representatives of the police and penitentiary sindicates announced a large protest on Wednesday in front of the Government and the Parliament for the increase of salaries.
They discussed this demand today with the President of the Senate, Florin Citu, in order to convince the authorities to identify solutions for the payment of the salary rights provided by law.
Cosmin Dorobantu, President of the Federation of Penitentiary Sindicates: We request that the law on unitary pay be fully applied, that is, to give us those tranches that remain to be given and to update the state military pensions. The day after tomorrow, we will have a protest in front of the Romanian Government, marching towards the Romanian Parliament. We estimate that approximately 5.000 police officers will take part, and after this large-scale protest, negotiations between our ministers and the finance minister will resume.
Host: The situation could be relaxed tomorrow. Union leaders said that the president of the Senate, Florin Citu, promised them that in tomorrow's meeting of the governing coalition all these demands will be discussed and a decision will be taken, RRA editor Alina Bordeiaşu transmits.
