2012 Old Car Scrappage Scheme kicks off on Monday
The amount of the cassation bonus is 3.800 lei, just as it was in the last years. In order to buy a new car, one can use at more three value tickets.

The 2012 Old Car Scrappage Scheme starts on Monday, by subscribing and by validating the collects and the producers, informs the minister of Environment.
The owners who are individuals can address to the collector firms for car cassation starting April the 3rd and until November the 19th 2012.
For this year, the Fund Administration for Environment (AFM) has provided a budget of 114 million lei that permits the use ending of 30,000 cars older than 10 years, according to a notification of the Environment Ministry.
The amount of the cassation bonus is 38,000 lei, just like in 2010 and 2011.
In order to buy a new car, one can use at more three value tickets.
Through the Scrappage Scheme , in the last two years, were quashed 305,964 old cars and were bought 101,766 new cars, from which 40,269 of indigenous origin.
The list of producers, importers and providers authorized to participate in 2012 at the Stimulation Program of Renewal of National Car Park Renewal, as well as the list of the economical operators authorized to manage activities of collecting and treatment of the vehicles which were scrapped will be published on the site of AFM, www.afm.ro, within the Stimulation Program of National Car Park Renewal 2012 section.
Romania, on the first place in Europe regarding the new car registrations
The new car registrations in Romania have increased with 54 percent in the first two months of the year compared to the same period of 2011, at over 9,000 units, the most significant growth from EU as percentage.
The number of new car registrations in Romania has reached in the first two months of 2012 at 9,063 units, while in the same period of 2011 they were registered only 5,886 units, according to European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

In the brands top, the new car registrations Dacia in Romania have increased in February with 9,81 percent, reaching 996 units, while Skoda has registered an advance of 23,04 percent, at 470 cars.
At European Union level though, the new car registrations have increased with 8,3 percent in the first two months of 2012, compared to the same period in 2011, from 2,027 millions to 1,858 millions, it is said in the ACEA notification .
