The Romanian Naval Forces neutralized on Wednesday two historical sea mines in the Black Sea, identified during exercises carried out in 2023, representatives of the Naval Forces General Staff said.
The structures were taking part in the multinational exercise "Eurasian Partnership Mine Counter Measure Dive 24", organised by the Centre for Divers. In order not to endanger maritime traffic, notices to mariners were issued and the movement of vessels was restricted.
The Naval Forces Staff said the two mines were at very great depths and did not pose a danger to shipping.
