Her Majesty Margareta, the Custodian of the Crown and His Royal Highness Prince Radu are currently visiting Mehedinti County.
During the first part of the visit, the Royal Family met with the Serbian and Czech communities in Sivinita and Dubova.
The visit then continued at the Orsova Municipal Hospital, where the members of the Royal Family signed the book of honour.
In Orsova, the members of the Royal Family held discussions with the representatives of the hospital unit and the doctors.
Flavia Istodorescu: Exciting, on the one hand, but on the other hand a free discussion, like with normal people, not necessarily of high rank. It was very good. I was very pleased to meet them, to have them here.
Lucian Vadastreanu: This is my first meeting with Her Majesty. I am extremely excited and delighted.
Historian Romeo Popa reminded us that the past of the Royal House of Romania begins in Mehedinti.
Romeo Popa: We are very pleased and we hope that from now on this tradition will continue in Mehedinti, because let's not forget one thing: Mehedinti is a royal county, Severin is a royal city. Here, we have events that keep the link with the Royal House of Romania. Carol I has set foot here first.
Her Majesty praised the work of the staff of the hospital in Orsova and sent a message to the Romanian doctors.
-Her Majesty Margareta: It is remarkable, and a model for the country I believe. They have handled all kinds of specialties, /.../. It's wonderful. These people have stayed in the country, and the cleanliness impressed me and everything they have managed. It's actually a huge achievement for /.../ here.
-Do you have a message for Romanian doctors, Your Majesty?
Her Majesty Margaret: I admire them very much and I hope to see more of them here.
The Royal Family's visit to Mehedinti ends on Thursday.
