Almost 98.000 Romanians have spent New Year's Eve in resorts in the country, growing by 30 per cent compared to last year, and they spent about 18 million euros, with 20 per cent more compared to the previous year, according to the employers ' Federation in the Romanian Tourism, quoted by Agerpres.
Abroad traveled to spend the winter holidays this year, 7.880 growing with about 27 percent of winter 2011.

20,000 people have purchased packages for New Year's Eve in mountain areas, 25,000 have chosen to spend the holidays in the resorts and so many people have paid for new offers of hotels in major cities of Romania, while for the seaside have chosen only 500 people, and for the Danube Delta 100, according to FPTR.
The highest increase was recorded in rural areas. where they have chosen a number of 27,000 people, growing by approximately 50 per cent compared to the prior year.
The number of Romanians who have contracted this year a package for New Year party in the country, i.e. 97.600, increased 30.6 per cent compared to last year, the total figure is close to that achieved in 2008.
Prices for travel packages, shrinking
In relation to the charges during the holidays, hotel is found a decrease of 6 per cent , 10 per cent in rural areas, 6 per cent in the climatic spa resorts, 7 per cent in London and major cities of the country and just 12 per cent in mountain resorts.
The Danube Delta is the only destination where this year has registered an increase of 3 per cent over the winter holidays.
The offer of accommodation is still exceeded demand in areas with tradition, while reduction of tariffs compared to last year has made hotels and accommodation to be occupied in higher proportion than last year.
Preferences of the Romanians have turned to the very good category hotels, hotels, or very cheap offers.
Externally, the rates for holiday offers in most destinations and holidays have been extended as the number of seats contracted for by the Romanians to spend winter holidays abroad to increase by approximately 25 per cent compared to the year 2011.
Also, the Romanians have spent more money abroad for the holidays, about 3.1 million, up 15 per cent compared to the prior year.
Most requested foreign destinations were Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, France.
In the last period, the Romanians ' preferences to contract travel services has been changed, the tendency is to use online reservation systems.
