The King of Belgium visited the Belgian soldiers stationed in Romania

RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The King of Belgium, Philippe, visited the Belgian soldiers deployed in Romania, at the Mihail Kogalniceanu air base in Constanta County, together with soldiers from other allied states.
The sovereign was received by the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, and the security situation in Eastern Europe was the main item on the agenda of the talks between the two leaders.
RRA correspondent Sorin Cealera said: "The two heads of state spoke about the security situation generated by the war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, but also about the Romanian-Belgian cooperation in the field of defense, especially in the context of the participation of the Kingdom of Belgium with a contingent of 300 soldiers in the NATO combat group in Romania. His Majesty, Philippe, King of Belgium, addressed all the Allied soldiers present at Mihail Kogalniceanu.
MS Philippe: “Your presence here, soldiers from seven NATO countries, far from home, in sometimes difficult conditions, proves that the solidarity of an alliance is seen in critical moments. I came here to support you and your families, who are far away and miss you.”
President Klaus Iohannis thanked on behalf of Romania for the contribution of the Belgian military to the NATO presence Romania.
Klaus Iohannis: “Together we are stronger and more efficient in our joint effort to strengthen the security of the Euro-Atlantic area and the security of our citizens.”
Public Relations Officer in the Belgian detachment: “It was three months in which we trained a lot with Romanians, Americans and French. We enjoyed collaborating with others. It's very important and I've learned a lot."
The Belgian detachment will soon leave the base at Mihail Kogălniceanu, and will be replaced by a detachment from the Netherlands."
