Articol de Petruţa Obrejan, 06 Iulie 2020, 14:51

The Government adopted today the draft law that puts the normative texts regarding the quarantine, isolation and internment of people with COVID-19, in accordance with the recommendations of the Constitutional Court

Reporter: Petru Obrejan - Hello! The Minister of Health, Nelu Tataru, is convinced that the adoption of the draft law on quarantine and isolation is necessary for the current COVID-19 pandemic to be managed and controlled as well as possible.

According to the minister, the project will reach the attention of the Parliament as a matter of urgency and, moreover, Nelu Tataru specified at the end of the government meeting that from yesterday until today, 250 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered.

In his turn, Secretary of State Raed Arafat said the bill could be applied to other situations of epidemiological risk too. According to him, regarding the quarantine of people coming from risk areas, the decision will be taken by the National Committee for Emergency Situations and will be implemented by the subordinate ministry.

Also, the county committees may approve, at the request of the National Committee for Emergency Situations, the quarantine of some areas in their counties.

Asked if asymptomatic patients will be able to stay at home, the Minister of Health, Nelu Tataru, explained that the attending physician is the one who can decide the evolution of these patients, however, depending on the existing pathology and under the conditions established by law.

On the other hand, the Chief Executive, Ludovic Orban said that the bill will be sent urgently to the Legislature and parliamentarians must be convinced that it is vital that this bill be debated and adopted as soon as possible, in order to have all the necessary tools to protect the life and health of Romanians.

That is all, from Victoria Palace.
