The budget of the Ministry of Agriculture has been increased by one billion lei to pay aid to farmers who have suffered losses due to the war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture will start authorising payments tomorrow and the money will be transferred to beneficiaries early next week, the authorities say.
The government today allocated money for the payment of subsidies to farmers, Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu announced.
The aid is granted to farmers in the vegetable sector, pig and poultry farmers.
Florin Barbu: Farmers will receive one hundred euro per hectare in the vegetable sector, one hundred euro per LU for pigs and one hundred euro per LU for poultry. We have more than 1.86 billion lei allocated to this measure.
The period in which funding can be accessed for several projects in the health sector has been extended, announced spokesman Mihai Constantin at the end of today's cabinet meeting.
Mihai Constantin: The construction of centres for severe burns patients in the "Pius Brinzeu" hospital in Timisoara, the Emergency Hospital in Targu Mures and the "Grigore Alexandrescu" Children's Emergency Hospital, which are currently at various stages of implementation, will be able to continue with financing provided by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
