Teachers in Romania will be taught with European Union money how to teach Romanian as a foreign language to children belonging to national minorities.
MTI writes that the details of the program were presented on Thursday, December 9, in Cluj-Napoca, by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of European Investments and Projects, Csilla Hegedus, and by the politician of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), Odon Szabo.
"Nine million euros will be provided for the training of 6.190 teachers for teaching Romanian as a foreign language", said Csilla Hegedus.
Although the Education Law created the possibility, starting with the 2011-2012 school year, to teach Romanian as a foreign language, teachers have not been trained so far.
