St. Nicholas celebration in Romania
There is a tradition that each year, in the morning of December 6, children find sweets in their boots, brought at night by St.Nicholas.

Orthodox Romanians celebrate, on December 6, St. Nicholas Day (Sfantul Nicolae), one of the most popular religious celebration in Romania, when there is a tradition that each year, in the morning of December 6, children find sweets in their boots, brought at night by St.Nicholas.
On St.Nicholas Day, 800,000 Romanians celebrate the their first name day.
St. Nicholas was a bishop at the beginning of the fourth century, in Myra, on the territory of today's Turkey, and was known as a very generous man. His biography mentions lots of times when he helped the people in need.
The relics of St. Nicholas are kept in Bari in Italy, and in Romania, the right hand of St. Nicholas is at St. George's New Church in Bucharest.
