Sibiu Rally Romania on the Transfăgărășan High Altitude Road
Over 80 car-racing teams from Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Bulgaria and Romania are participating in the Sibiu Rally speed driving challenge competition on the Transfăgărășan.

Over 80 car-racing teams from Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Bulgaria and Romania are participating, until 7 October, in the Sibiu Rally speed driving challenge competition on the Transfăgărășan High Altitude Road – one of the most impressive in Romania.
Traffic will be closed between 12:00 and 19:30 on the section Cârţişoara-Bâlea Cascadă, Sibiu County and between 18:30 and 23:00 on the section Dobârca - Poiana Sibiului, according to RRA correspondent in Sibiu, Carmen Vulcan.
According to official documents, today competition will have a total length of 634 km, out of which 123.9 km represents the distance of the 13 special tests. Pilots will enroll in extraordinary car-racing tests, in a fabulous mountain landscape.
Event is organized by "Sports Area" Club, in partnership with AMC Racing owned by former World Boxing Champion Mihai Leu – now a rally pilot, with the support of the City Hall of Sibiu and the Sibiu County Council. Speed challenge racing of today is the last stage of Dunlop National Rally Championship that also includes Dunlop National Historic Vehicle Championship.
