The military ship "Captain-Commander Alexandru Catuneanu" left the military port of Constanta, to participate, in the Ionian Sea and the Gulf of Patras, in the multinational exercise against mines "Ariadne 21", organized by the Greek Naval Forces, between March 27 - April 4.
The purpose of the Romanian military sailors' participation in this international mission, together with partners from Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Spain and Turkey, is to improve the actions against sea mines and increase the degree of interoperability with other NATO forces specialized in this field.
The Romanian ship has on board a detachment of military divers specialized in the fight against improvised devices (EOD), with equipment specific to underwater hydrographic research.
