Romanian post Company started from Tuesday to issue the decisions of terminating the work contract for 3650 employees within a restructuring process agreed also by the unions.
The employees who will leave the company will receive compensatory payments depending on their experience.
Over 65 percent of those redundant have voluntarily chosen for the collective firing.
The restructuring process of Romanian Post has as short term purpose the reestablishment of the equilibrium between the volume of post service and the number of employees in the company, and the firing process was made by respecting the law in force and the collective work contract – states the spokesman of the National
Company Romanian Post, Dan Dumitrescu.
“The process of selecting the employees who made the collective firing objective was made according to the procedures and regulations conjunctly established by both the company management and the Post Workers Union in Romania.
“The employees who will be redundant will receive between three and thirty compensatory paychecks, depending on their experience”, states Dan Dumitrescu.
“Partially solved” problems
The Post Workers Union in Romania, which makes part of the National Union Block, was partner in the process of professional evaluation of employees.
BNS leader, Dumitru Costin, believes though that the major problems of Romanian Post are not solved just by these firings.
“What happened now with the Romanian Post is an urgent solution. The major problems are related to the way in which this company will evolve. Just today I submitted to the Romanian government a proposal in six points that focuses many opportunities. “
“Until the end of this week, I believe we will have a first round of discussions on these topics. It follows that we publicly communicate the types of solutions that we identified and that could help at redressing the company”, states Dumitru Costin.
At the end of may 2013, the government decided to extend with 180 days the term of privatization the Romanian Post, taking into account that no potential investor had bought the specification until the deadline may the 28th.
