Romania's Prime Minister Victor Ponta is involved in talks with American legislators in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.
The talks will be focused on issues concerning the long-awaited visa-free travels of Romanians wishing to visit the United States.
Mr. Ponta believes that keeping Romania and Poland out of the US Visa Waiver programme is unfair as both countries are old and trusted US allies in strategic partnerships.
Prime Minister Victor Ponta met US Vice President Joe Biden at the White House on Tuesday when he assured that Romania was a safe country for American investments as it was determined to keep its justice system out of any political dispute.
The talks avoided any remarks concerning the domestic policy of the government in Bucharest as the interests of the American businessmen in Romania were an issue of crucial concern, PM Victor Ponta told RADIO ROMANIA.
