Romanian Maritime Hydrographic Vessel “Cpt.Cdor.Alexandru Cătuneanu” left Constanța Port to participate in the ARIADNE 19 multinational exercise, organized by the Hellenic Navy on March 10-25, on the Mediterranean Sea, according to a press release of the Romanian Naval Forces.
"Exercise is aimed at developing the level of training in a multinational framework in the specific field of the fight against underwater threats and contributes to development of multilateral relations among participating naval forces. Romania demonstrates it is a credible partner and a security provider on NATO’s southern and eastern flank, by participating in NATO’s activities in the Mediterranean", document states.
ARIADNE 19 aims to train participating staffs and units in conducting mine countermeasures (MCM) operations, enhance the cooperation level and improve mutual training and interoperability among participating nations. (NATO).
