Romanian Association of Theatre Artists nominated its winners
The theatres of Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu were the great winners of the 19th edition of UNITER Awards. Radio Romania was awarded for the best radio theatre show.

The theatres of Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu were the winners of the19th UNITER Gala.
The most awarded show was ‘Cries and Whispers’, staged by the Hungarian State Theatre of Cluj-Napoca, which received awards for best director – Andrei Serban, the best show and best leading actor – Zsolt Bogdan
“The Carnival”, a Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation production directed by Gavriil Pinte, received the Best Radio Drama Show Award.
The UNITER Award for Best Leading Actress went to Ofelia Popii for her roles in the show “Slices” put on by the “Radu Stanca” Theatre in Sibiu.
Other awards granted during the event included special Lifetime Achievement Awards that went to actor George Elias, actress Coca Bloos, director Tudor Marascu, scenographer Gabriela Nazare and critic John Cazaban.
The Excellence Award was granted to actress Tamara Buciuceanu and the special award offered by the British Council went to Ion Caramitru.
The UNITER Senate decided that during the gala diplomas of gratitude should be awarded to staff with over 30 years of experience in the theatre institutions which they belong to.
