Romania supports the Tunisian authorities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and sends, today, 180 thousand doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, antigen tests and protective masks.
At the same time, 13 doctors and nurses will have a 21-day mission in this country severely affected by coronavirus.
The transport is performed with a Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, in special conditions for vaccine doses, with equipment provided by the Cantacuzino Institute.
Romania is among the states that have received a request for assistance from the Tunisian government through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
Tunisia, a country with a population of nearly 12 million, has recorded about 465.000 cases of COVID-19 and 15.700 deaths associated with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic, Rador reports.
