RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - Romania is willing to make available to Ukraine the infrastructure of the Port of Constanta so that their exports can take place, given that Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea are blocked due to the Russian invasion.
Details in the correspondence signed by Claudiu Padurean: “The European Union risks facing a food crisis, given that Ukraine cannot use its Black Sea ports to sell its grain. In this context, the Minister of Defense, Vasile Dincu, stated that Romania will allow Ukraine to use the infrastructure of the Port of Constanta for the export of cereals.
Vasile Dincu: “There are discussions and not only between governments, but also between economic agents. We facilitate a transport mechanism, especially from Ukraine to the Port of Constanta and to the ports on the Black Sea. We support this. It is a possibility that Ukraine has at the moment to finance its survival, because we are already talking about survival. Of course, the benefits are for Romania as well, we have access to a market, so we have no problems with the supply of cereals, because we are also exporters of cereals, and the Port of Constanta wins.”
Ukraine is usually one of the largest exporters of grain in the world. Before the war, Ukrainian grain exports averaged five million tons a month."
