Romania must capitalize on the circumstances determined by the war

Romania must try to capitalize on the conjuncture determined by the effects of the war in Ukraine and attract as many of the investments that seek to relocate during this period, says the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance, Mihai-Calin Precup.

"It is an extraordinary opportunity for us, in the context in which many businesses want to relocate to Romania, from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, but I expect that in the next period we will have relocation requests and foreign investments from Hungary in this geopolitical context, and for this a working group was created, coordinated by the Ministry of Economy, to find solutions on how we can support the relocation of businesses from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus through concrete measures, state aid, guarantees, so that we do not discriminate domestic companies", says Mihai-Calin Precup.

The official also stated that in the current international context, investments in domestic production are also important in such a way that the dependence on imports, including in terms of energy, is reduced.
