Romanian Minister of Transport, Lucian Şova, discussed, on Tuesday, in Budapest, with Hungarian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, about transport links.
According to the MTI Press Agency, taken over by RADOR, the common interest of both neighboring countries, taking into account their very close economic cooperation, is to create as many transport links as possible.
By 2020, the connection of the second highway between the two countries, which will link the Transylvania North highway to the M4 express road, will be completed. Two of the 10 border crossings, with low traffic, which are only open on weekends, will soon become permanent - the two ministers agreed.
Both Romania and Hungary intend to be connected as soon as possible to the European high-speed rail network, the two ministers said. Péter Szijjártó informed the Romanian Minister of Transports that the Hungarian Government is allocating 1 billion forints in order to prepare a feasibility study for the construction of a high-speed rail line between Budapest and Cluj.
