RADIO ROMANIA NEWS: Romania and Hungary have concluded yesterday a collaboration protocol for the problems of national minorities.
The document was signed by the two foreign ministers, Bogdan Aurescu and Péter Szijjártó, who met yesterday in Gyula, in the neighboring country.
Minister Aurescu expects the Hungarian side to financially support education in the Romanian language, to develop the network of schools and high schools and to provide land to the Episcopate of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Budapest.
Also discussed were the employment of Romanian speakers in public institutions in cities with Romanian minorities, the restoration of Romanian churches, but also the financing and encouragement of the Romanian language in written and audiovisual press. Bogdan Aurescu also announced that the Romanian-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce in Budapest could be operationalized in September.
Two more agreements have been signed amending the bilateral legal framework, with a view to establishing two new border crossing points.
